bliss magazine, issue 3

i'm very pleased to be included in the 3rd issue of Bliss magazine, produced by Hanke Arkenbout. i was lucky enough to
be profiled in this magazine along with 13 other artists/photographers from across the world.

Bliss is available for purchase here. There is the option of a digital copy or a real life paper copy :)
It's worth checking out issues 1 and 2 as well.

A big thank you to Hanke, so happy to be included in such a great publication!

splash!

last weekend was our first beach swim of the season. it was a super hot day, so we went with some friends to one of sydney's beautiful
harbour beaches - parsley bay. such a lovely spot, very peaceful. it was a little cold in, but very refreshing once you'd been in for a bit.

this particular beach is about less than a 15 min drive from our place, so i'm sure we'll be back again as the weather gets warmer. i
really missed swimming in the sea when we lived in london. there's just something so nice about it.

i've also been trying to get to the pool twice a week to swim laps. it's a very nice way of exercising.

take 5

boy is time flying, this year has gone so quickly - don't you think? i can't believe we're almost in november.

i must say i'm feeling a little tired and uninspired by my photo work. i guess we all have our moments.. i've still got photos to share,
but i'm not always happy in what i get back from the developers. hmmmm. it's funny i've got a craving to be creative, but i don't know
how to satisfy this craving.. anyway food for thought.

this is a slightly random post - in photos and words.

happy weekend everyone!

outtakes: blue mountains

i didn't mean to disappear for the week, but things have been busy around here... more on that later in the week.
these are the last few images from our weekend away. i've just finished a new roll of film, so will have more from life in sydney to
share.

life in sydney is good, we're happy we made the move back here. i miss my friends back in london and also miss our frequent jaunts to
europe. but that said i feel happy and it also helps to be planning a trip to europe in summer next year - i'm already excited.

hope you're happy wherever you are in the world.

p.s thanks as always for visiting and taking the time to comment. i'm sorry i don't always reply. i need to make more time to do this
and also visit more of your blogs too.

lazing about

whilst away i enjoyed not doing a lot. the days consisted of: lazing about, visiting gardens with my mum, reading, napping in the
hammock, playing cards and scrabble and eating my dad's delicious deserts - above you will see his first attempt at a tarte tatin.

pink!

the rhododendron flowers were beautiful! i couldn't stop taking photos of the trees that looked like they were wearing beautiful
flower pom-poms. they were all over the blue mountains, these particular beauties i found in blackheath.

please forgive my obsession!

everglades

we spent the first weekend of october in the blue mountains with family. my parents rent a beautiful house in leura and there was a
spare bed, so we decided to get-away. it was lovely to leave sydney and such a good time to visit the mountains, as spring had truly
sprung - flowers and cherry blossoms everywhere... i got a little excited about the flowers and took lots of photos, i'll share these in
the next few posts.

the above photos are from everglades historic house and gardens in leura, built in the 1930s and is now looked after by the national
trust. i have many fond memories of visiting these gardens when i was much younger, my sister and cousin would go there and explore
the beautiful grounds. it was lovely revisiting a place from my childhood.

cockatoo island

if you ever find yourself in sydney, i'd definitely try to make a trip out to cockatoo island. it's just a short ferry ride from the city, so you
get to enjoy the harbour by boat as well.

the island itself is really interesting. until a few years a go it was never open to the public. it has a rich history of convicts and ship
building, original buildings and huge warehouses still stand today.

you can even stay in one of the special tents that are set up on the island (seen in second top photo). cool huh?
