cake for breakfast

we had cake for breakfast one morning, not any old cake, but cake from voilets. who could resist, when we were staying a one 

minute walk away. wish voilet had a shop in sydney.

hooray it's the weekend! treat yourself with a piece of cake. if you're reading in london, go have a piece for me at voilets.

broadway market

it was lovely being back in london, we caught up with a lot of friends. sadly we didn't see a few, as time flew by. i also didn't get to 

revisit a few special places too which was a shame. but we hung out in our old neighbourhood, had fabulous hot weather and ate 

some great meals. we even managed to do a bit of shopping.

oh dear, i haven't been here in a while.. but i've got lots to share now, over 300 images from our month of travel in europe.

were returning home after being away on a holiday to sydney. i love london.

redleaf

i think i've mentioned redleaf beach here before. we're lucky that it's just up the road, a 20min walk or a very short drive. we go there 
a lot to cool down. it's been a very hot summer in sydney this year. the other week we had the hottest day ever recorded - 45.8 
degrees in the CBD. it was stinking hot, like stepping into an oven. yuck. 

so far i'm surviving the heat quite well, even though i'm very pregnant. my biggest complaint is sore swollen fluidy feet and legs. not a 
pretty sight! i joined the trend and bought a pair of saltwater sandals. they have been perfect for my big feet.. some days they're the 
only shoes i fit into!

i'll stop complaining now, as it's all worth it. we can't wait to meet the little guy!

merry christmas friends!

today i'm sharing photos from yesterday (top image) and this time last year (bottom image). this year the beach, last year it was snow!
hard to believe this time last year we were spending our last weeks in london and europe, saying goodbye to family and friends, 
packing our things for the big move back to sydney.

i really can't believe how quickly this year has gone. it's crazy really.

2013 is another big year for the husband and i, as we'll be welcoming baby boy to the world in early march. i'm 29 weeks (the bump is 
getting big), so he'll be here in no time. exciting and a little daunting all at once.

i hope you enjoy the holiday season wherever you are in the world. i thank you for your support, kind comments and encouragement 
this past year and look forward to sharing 2013 with you.

he's melting...

the simple things

the husband has been perfecting the art of making crossiants.. needless to say i'm one happy lady. the above photo is the first batch 
he's made. they've improved a lot since then. waking up to the smell of crossiants baking in the oven is divine. 

we've been taking things easy, i've felt a bit tired and emotional - thanks to baby boy :)

but the air is warm, we eat gelato often and we go for long walks. it's the simple things.

two is becoming three!

i'm very excited to share some special news with you.. 

the husband and i are having a baby boy! we're looking forward to meeting him in early march 2013.

i'm almost 23 weeks and feeling good. i had terrible morning (all day and night) sickness for quite a while, but now i feel much more 

like myself, thank goodness. the bump has started to pop out the last couple of weeks. i look more like a pregnant lady now and less 

like i've eaten a very big meal. maybe i'll post a bump photo here some day...

exciting times ahead!

last weekend was our first beach swim of the season. it was a super hot day, so we went with some friends to one of sydney's beautiful 
harbour beaches - parsley bay. such a lovely spot, very peaceful. it was a little cold in, but very refreshing once you'd been in for a bit.

this particular beach is about less than a 15 min drive from our place, so i'm sure we'll be back again as the weather gets warmer. i 
really missed swimming in the sea when we lived in london. there's just something so nice about it.

i've also been trying to get to the pool twice a week to swim laps. it's a very nice way of exercising.

so quiet

 

it was so quiet. 

all we could hear were the trees swaying creakily in the wind, the pine needles crunching under foot, our voices and the click of my 
camera.

weekend in the country

 

hello again. i didn't mean to have a break from here, but the week slipped by. the next few posts i will be sharing photos from a 

weekend in the country from two weeks a go. we got out of sydney for a couple of nights with friends. it was lovely and relaxing.

thanks for all your comments in previous posts. sorry i haven't replied. i do appreciate them.

the husband and i moved into our own place at the start of the week. 

so whilst we're unpacking, getting settled and waiting for the internet to be
