Mornings with Teddy

Teddy has always been an early riser.. I'm slowly getting used to it. 

The morning light in our flat is lovely and always makes me extra glad that I'm up and experiencing it. 

Although I wouldn't say no to an uninterrupted sleep-in :)

Bloom

This is what late spring / early summer looks like right outside our apartment. 

Every day these trees are in bloom I'm constantly in awe of their beauty. 

Green thumbs

One Saturday afternoon my mum I took a drive out into the far suburbs of Sydney to a succulent nursery run by an older lady from her home. It was so hard not to walk away with loads of plants! Our home is slowly but surely becoming a jungle. The more plants the better I say... Polo needs a bit more convincing...

In the kitchen

I love the light in our kitchen. Have you noticed how much my plants have grown?

Whilst we're in the kitchen, I want to tell you about a new blog our good friends have started, it's called Mostly Saturdays and it's by Will and Maria. They share beautiful photos of food, stories of cooking and eating, as well as delicious recipes. We've been lucky to have shared many meals with Will and Maria and they are brilliant cooks. Go check it out, your mouth will water and your eyes will love the gorgeous photos too.

Still life

I was lucky to receive some lovely native flowers from Teddy for Mother's Day back in May. I love native flowers, they look so interesting, when cut they last a long time and lastly they dry so beautifully. So, I've got remnants of the beautiful bouquet in our lounge room - these gum nuts, pictured above, and also banksias and proteas. Thanks Teddy.

Our favourite cake

At least once a month we bake a cake. Polo often bakes. I'm lucky he likes cooking so much. One of our favourite cakes to bake is the Rose Bakery pistachio cake. It is so lovely, moist and utterly delicious. I remember the first time that Maria made it for us, I couldn't stop thinking about it a week later. Now, that's the sign of a good cake.

Out of our window

One of Theodore's favourite things to do is to look out the window. He points and exclaims when he sees a bird or hears one. 

Luckily there is a lot of bird life where we live.

Spring from our window

As you may have guessed, I finally got some more films developed. There were some shots from a while a go on one of the films. The 

photo above was taken from Teddy's bedroom. It's the most beautiful view in Spring when the Jacaranda trees are in bloom. 

I have to stop myself from taking loads of photos.

peek-a-boo, polka-dots

Teddy loves getting into our bed and being tucked in, he thinks it's really funny and a bit of a game. 

he happily will sit there whilst i get ready or tidy our room.

newborn

it's hard to believe that Teddy is 2 months old now, he's grown quite a lot in the past two months. so funny looking at these photos of 

our first weeks at home and remembering just how small he was! he's now just over 4 kilos, woohoo. he'll have big bhubby cheeks and 

rolls for days before i know it. motherhood is good. it keeps me busy, hence no posts recently. we have good days and bad days. but 

whatever happens, or how hard a day seems, looking at Theodore's little face makes my heart melt. the poor kid is smothered 

constantly in kisses. ha!

i'm going to try and not let this blog be taken over by baby, but i don't think i'll be here much in the next little while and forgive me 

for the baby photos.

hope you're all well. i'm missing visiting all your blogs too.. i don't seem to spend much time on the computer these days, my hands 

seem like they are constantly full with other things or someone :)

at home

 

 

it's funny to think that in about 6-7 weeks there won't be just the two of us living at home. there will be a new addition to the family. 
we're getting excited about baby boy's arrival. we've got some things still to organise, buy and rooms to rearrange.
i'm really looking forward to seeing what he looks like!
