Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone. I hope you all enjoy the long weekend. What are your plans?  

We plan on cooking, catching up with friends and family and depending on the weather maybe going on a little day trip somewhere.

j & k tie the knot

we celebrated the wedding of our wonderful friends Jason and Katy on new years eve. it's one of the best weddings i've even had 

the privilege of attending. relaxed, fun and such a beautiful celebration of love.

Sydney turned it on for the special day, we cruised Sydney harbour on a lovely boat, drank sparkling, ate seafood and swam in the 

harbour. to top it all off, we attended the new years eve dinner in the botanical gardens, with the most spectacular view for the 

fireworks. we danced and laughed with old friends and new.

shadowgrams

i've started a little project over on instagram.. i came to realise i had a growing collection of pics featuring shadows. i called them 

shadowgrams and if you search that hashtag, you'll see that i'm not the only one documenting shadows. i had some lovely comments 

about these shadowgrams and i became conscious of being out and about and documenting the interesting shadows, the play of light 

and shade that i witnessed. So i've created my own unique hashtag which is: melwatshadowgram. take a look if you're interested.

if you follow me on instagram, you would have seen these pics already. apologies. i'm waiting on my films to be developed and i'll be a little delayed in picking them up, as we're having a holiday up the coast in Byron Bay. 

introducing Theodore

so our little boy Theodore decided to arrive over 2 weeks early! Teddy arrived on Thursday 21st February at 1:53am. a little, beautiful 

boy weighing only 2.6kg and 47cm long. i had quite a complicated and slightly traumatic birth experience, but hey - we made it and 

look at the beautiful healthy package that arrived at the end. 

Teddy will be 4 weeks on Thursday! boy, that last  month has flown by. we're getting used to life as three and finding a routine. it's 

taken me a bit of time to recover, but i feel more like myself everyday. 

i probably won't be here too often in the next little while, this little guy seems to fill my days without even trying :) 

we're going to enjoy each others company and it's so fascinating seeing how much Theodore changes and develops day-to-day, week-

to week. in the next week or two he should start smiling. i can't wait for that.

as of today i'm on maternity leave! baby boy's due date is the 8th march, so not long now.
unfortunately i'm sick with a awful head cold. so i'm feeling pretty yucky. 
i'm unsure how frequently i'll be posting here in the next little while...
i haven't been taking a lot of photos recently and things have been busy for his impending arrival.
but please come back every now and again to check in. i'll miss you all if you don't.

the bump. 30 weeks.

i thought you might be interested in seeing the bump. this photo was taken by the husband the other day, whilst we were exploring 

some of sydney's beautiful harbour beaches, not too far from where we live.

i'll be sharing some film photos from the day in the new year. such amazing views, such beautiful weather. so relaxing. 

this is why we live in sydney.

so yes - sydney above with the bump - in all our glory. ha!!

now and then

merry christmas friends!

today i'm sharing photos from yesterday (top image) and this time last year (bottom image). this year the beach, last year it was snow!
hard to believe this time last year we were spending our last weeks in london and europe, saying goodbye to family and friends, 
packing our things for the big move back to sydney.

i really can't believe how quickly this year has gone. it's crazy really.

2013 is another big year for the husband and i, as we'll be welcoming baby boy to the world in early march. i'm 29 weeks (the bump is 
getting big), so he'll be here in no time. exciting and a little daunting all at once.

i hope you enjoy the holiday season wherever you are in the world. i thank you for your support, kind comments and encouragement 
this past year and look forward to sharing 2013 with you.

good food

i've eaten some particularly tasty food recently - husband-made as well as out and about.

pictured: the rose bakery carrot cake - made by the husband. almost as good as the real one!

watermelon and strawberry cake by black star pastry. i had been dying to try this and it was amazing.

gelato from gelato messina - the best gelato in sydney

crossiants made my the husband. he's just about perfected them!

not pictured: we've had delicious meals at rockpool bar and grill with my parents,

dinner with friends at fratelli fresh,

and lunch with maria and her husband at room 10.

so if you're in sydney i'd advise you to try all these places.
