annecy love

i'm still dreaming of Annecy. I love it there so much and it is a place that holds many wonderful memories of holidays and a very special event - our wedding, and now we'll have memories of our first european holiday as a family of three.

it's snowing there now, i can just imagine how magical it is... we spent christmas there, two years a go. i must say christmas in a cold climate is so lovely and i think it makes more sense too :)

it's my birthday tomorrow, i'll be 33. gulp! and the day after, Teddy will be 10 months. what a year!

lunch with family

as many of you know, polo is half french and all of his father's side of the family live in france. needless to say, everyone was very
excited to see us and meet Teddy for the first time. we had a lovely lunch together, it was so great catching up. it's sad how far away
Australia is from France. wish we could visit more often, like we did when we lived in London. maybe one day they will have invented
travel that takes a few hours and is really cheap... here's hoping!

another day, another hike

after the beaches and heat of sardinia, we spent a week with good friends in a chalet in la clusaz, a small and cute ski village.
the mountain air was so fresh, it was warm, but not too hot. everything was so green and the sky was so blue.

we spent our days hiking in the mountains, eating good food, reading books and walking around the village.

i absolutely loved taking the chair lifts high up the mountains. so much fun, it felt like a slow roller coaster with spectacular views.

we loved our time in the mountains. it really is picture perfect, like being in a postcard.

our last beach day

we spent our last day in Sardinia at... surprise, surprise, the beach! we rented sun beds and umbrellas, read books, chatted, swam,
snacked, played cards and snoozed. it's a good thing Teddy was only 5 months old and not that mobile, doing that holiday now that
he's crawling and standing, would have been a totally different story :)

we absolutely loved our time in Sardinia. i would highly recommend it. we loved spending 10 whole days and nights with our best
friends, catching up and laughing. it was hard to say goodbye the next day, but luckily we get to see them again soon.

these are my last colour photos of Sardinia. i still have some b&w films to develop. next stop is Annecy and the French Alps.

hope you've enjoyed exploring Sardinian beaches with me.

with friends

Polo gave me an afternoon off, he looked after Teddy and i spent a few hours with two of my best friends at the beach, swimming,
laughing, talking and drinking campari spritz in the hot sun. it was a very fun afternoon and i felt happy and rejuvenated walking
back to the house. i love my baby, but it's good to have some time apart, it's healthy and it makes me a better mother. well that's
what i think. any other mum's out there find that?
