The last few months...

Snippets from life over the last few months... It takes me a while these days to finish a roll of film. I still carry my camera with me, wherever I go but it doesn't get to come out of my bag as often as it used to. I have a few excuses - I often have my hands full (with Teddy), I forget I have it with me, I'm lazy and just get my iPhone out, I'm often getting from A to B and forget to stop and look. I'm trying to change these habits... At least I'm aware of my excuses I guess.

On another note, It's almost winter and we're still swimming in the sea! I love it, the cool refreshing water is invigorating and makes you happy to be alive and right there in that moment...

Plant Lover

Like a lot of people, I'm a plant lover and I have a particular soft spot for cacti and succulents. I'm slowly cultivating a jungle in our kitchen, although I do wish I had a backyard to do more gardening. I grew up helping my mum and grandparents in their gardens and visiting garden shops. I didn't mind these activities, but they weren't my favourite. However, in the last ten years, I've come to realise how lovely it is to garden and have plants in one's home, I wish I had room to grow lots of flowers and veggies. Hopefully one day I'll have a backyard or a balcony to call my own. In the meantime, I'll be happy to visit and dream in other people's gardens.

The pics above were taken in the cacti and succulent garden at the Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens.

Early mornings...

I never used to be a morning person, I wouldn't wake up before 8:30am most days (luckily I've always started work at 10am - haha), but that's all changed since Teddy's been around. I still like my sleep, but I actually like the early mornings. The light is so pretty and having the opportunity to watch the sun rise some mornings (thanks Ted) is truly wonderful.

One morning a month or more a go, Teddy woke particularly early. From our kitchen window I could see that the cloud were quite special, so we jumped in the car and headed to Clovelly Beach. I'm so glad we did, all I kept saying was wow!

Thank you young Theodore for making me appreciate the beauty of early mornings.
